Our blue planet is in crisis. From climate change, plastics, mining, destructive fishing and more - the threats facing our oceans are growing everyday. Together we can push Governments around the world to decide on a Global Ocean Treaty which could protect 30% of our oceans through ocean sanctuaries. Now is the best chance we have at safeguarding our oceans. There is no time to lose.
We must urgently help our oceans Ocean Sanctuaries can give wildlife space to recover and, in turn, help to cycle carbon and avoid the worst effects of the climate crisis. The Antarctic alone is home to over 9,000 marine species including humpback whales and emperor penguins but sadly they are under threat from climate change and destructive industries. It is vital that we protect vulnerable parts of our oceans like the Antarctic. Scientists say that to save our oceans we need at least 30% of global oceans protected by 2030, not the paltry 1% we have now.
This is our last chance to push for a strong Global Ocean Treaty
