Vera Blue and Greenpeace collaborate to bring you an exclusive video clip for her exclusive new single, 'Like I Remember You'. Vera Blue adds her unique voice to the thousands of people demanding that the Australian Government protect the Great Australian Bight against the threat of oil drilling.
Shot on the helipad of the iconic Rainbow Warrior, Vera Blue has put the spotlight on the dangers facing one of the most untouched wonders of the world. But we need every single voice to make sure our message is heard. With your help, we can make oil history.
SONGS FOR THE BIGHT
85% of the marine life in the Bight is found nowhere else on the planet. Unique species like the Leafy Sea Dragon and the Australian Sea Lion all call the Bight their home.
Oil companies are circling the Bight. Though the rough seas and massive swells make the risk of a spill higher than other oil wells.
The isolated and sprawling coastline of the Bight would make a clean-up near impossible. Run-off from an oil spill there could spread as far north as Bondi Beach, and halfway to New Zealand.
The local communities oppose drilling. Traditional owners don't want it, nor do the local fishing and tourism industries.
We shouldn't be drilling for oil if we're serious about keeping warming below 1.5 degrees. The future is in renewables!
